Thanks MDM for inviting me to this blog....Being a mom the second time around was surprisingly a whole new experience all again. I had imagined that having had a kid already would make things more of a cake walk for me...can't say that it has. Arnav (I'll call him A2) as a baby is so much more active than his brother (A1), and yes, that's something that my husband and I always end up doing- compare what the younger one was doing and think back to what our first son used to do...and most of the times we don't seem to remember...Being a second sibling of the same sex myself (I have an older sister) I can imagine why some parents probably don't have the same amount of excitement and anticipation when they have a second child of the same sex...and I was determined to make this experience special, to not take things for granted and I think its working, because I seem to cherish these moments a lot and in some ways is a replay of the things that A1 used to do, but so different and makes us as parents appreciate them all the more! Oh well..
A2 wants to do whatever his brother does, they just keep each other so busy, till of course the fighting starts! A1 got a musical keyboard for his 4th Day, and I think A2 plays with it more! He especially likes to use the microphone and starts cooing and talking in it the moment he has it..hm , that should probably tell me something about how talkative he is going to be...if he's not playing, he's following me around, crawling on all fours like a puppy..especially after I get him from the baby-sitters and get home and trying to cook or something, there he is near my feet, or near the cabinets, pulling out stuff (which reminds me, have to childproof them) or gets into the dishwasher and the pantry!
But all in all, its such a joy to see his face, smiling and waiting when I go to pick him up, that I feel all the pain and troubles we go through are worth it!

I have been in the backgound for a while now. Things are not so good at work. So times like this, it is so nice to read these baby blogs and it gives a smile of my face and makes me realize how wonderful the life of a mom is.
My son keeps getting different names from me and for right now it is one-toothie.
"I am my one-toothie's favorite and he is my favorite". It is so beautiful how babies bond to mothers. My son has been bottle fed since he was one month. I had read how babies bond to mothers during breastfeeding and I thought that my son may not like me as much. But I do not think it is true. I work and so does my husband , but when I come back home, and if my one-toothie sees me then he won’t give me the time to take off my shoes and wash my hands and, he will start to cry with tears rolling down his cheeks if I do not pick him right away!!! It is so wonderful, that he likes me more than anything in this world In the mornings when I just wake up, with a stinking mouth and hair like ‘sideshow bob’, he (my baby) still gives me those sloppy kissy. The funny thing is he never gives those to his dad
I thank God so much for giving me this opportunity and for giving me such a wonderful experience. He is not the best looking baby but I could not exchange him to the cutest of cutest baby in the world. Motherhood is such an amazing thing.
I am not sure why we enjoy parenthood so much, I mean to think of it, it is non-stop non-sense (NSNS – that is what I call my son sometimes ). U finish one cycle of everything and when u r almost ready to leave the house something else pop’s up. Even a small chore takes for ever, but it is so much joy. My question is why do we find so much joy in feeding, changing, bathing, etc to this little one ? It can be nothing other than motherhood madness.
Before I was pregnant, when I looked at other mothers I used to feel that we have the best of the world, we could go out whenever, wherever, whatever we want. Then when I was pregnant, I kept wondering how often can we go out to movies after babies, will I be able to cope up with the responsibilities of motherhood….and sometime what if I do not like my baby, what if he is not cute….
But now I realize that I would rather spend the time with my son aka NSNS than sit in a theater every weekend. I used to enjoy working out before, but now since I am working, I feel guilty to leave him again and to go work out. I can’t believe that I am saying this; I would rather look big and old and spend time with my son rather than loosing weight!!!
There is a great couple here and they cannot have kids. Sometimes I feel that I could be a surrogate mother to them, just so that they can experience this wonderful NSNS !! What I feel is it will be hard for me for about 9 months of my life, but for them, it will change their life and they can experience parenthood for the rest of their life. Of course I have not told this to anybody, for all I know they may just laugh at me. (Having been reading to many of those baby magazines….)
B/n my husband and myself I was the one who kept thinking that we could have later in life…..so I kept postponing for as long as I could. Now after the baby I hope everybody gets a chance to enjoy this amazing wonderful joy of Non-Stop Non-Sense
